Then later she and her hubby Vernon Kay turn up here in a strange sketch involving an unlikely holiday hitch-hiker.

Mind you, they don’t look quite their normal selves. Must be working too hard . . .

IT'S at roughly this stage in the contest, if previous years are anything to go by, that the madness sets in.

And how can we tell? Because of the barmy improvised headgear, that’s how.



Never mind the bickering and the splitting into cliques, it’s the crazy
bandanas and bizarre crowns of insect-ridden foliage that give the game
away.

GOOD Lord, it’s TV’s very first Antony Costa-themed weekend.

Well, all right, not officially, but the cheeky chap from Blue just happens to be appearing on prime-time telly two nights on the trot – guesting in tonight’s Casualty and then returning with the Costa clan for tomorrow night’s All Star Family Fortunes (ITV1, 7.15pm), taking on ex-Corrie star Liz Dawn and her bunch.

As far as his role tonight is concerned, Antony is playing a bloke called Dave, who’s fallen for a girl from a local massage parlour and is promising they can make a fresh start together.

And the medical element to this storyline? Well, needless to say, the poor lass ends up getting hideously injured in a fire – leaving Dave to ask himself how committed he really is.
