SOMETIMES it is the bitterest of medicines that does you the most amount of good...
Afghan immigrants are being paid £1,900 a man by the taxpayers to return home.
That’s an amount that would normally stick in the throat. But when you compare it to the cost of letting them stay, it’s a price worth paying.
This country has a proud history of accepting anyone in peril, and long may that continue.
But make no mistake, these people had NO right to be here, and on the whole sneaked into the country illegally.
The chancers have been abusing our reputation for hospitality for too long.
If we have to stump up money to send them home, so be it.
It’s goodbye and good riddance.
