BRITISH astronaut Nicholas Patrick says he could not have gone into orbit without his mum’s marmalade.
The 45-year-old Yorkshireman, above right, blasted into space yesterday from Florida aboard the Nasa shuttle Endeavor.
He is on a journey to the International Space Station, which is around 200 miles above the Earth.
Dr Patrick said of his mum Gillian: “Her marmalade is the best and I couldn’t have contemplated going into space without it.”
The dad of three will chart his journey, which will include fitting new work and living quarters to the multi-million pound outpost, on Twitter as @astro_nicholas
