NEW DAD WAYNE'S A NAPPY SNAPPER

DAD Wayne Rooney was so excited over son Kai’s birth he fired off mobile phone photos to his team-mates.

The proud Manchester United and England star took special snaps of wife Coleen and the baby within minutes of the birth.

And Wayne’s picture-sending spree came after Coleen, 23, turned down big-money media offers for photos of her with Kai.

The tot has yet to be seen in public, but United full-back Patrice Evra, 28, told how he and the other players received picture messages from Wayne.

He said: “He sent me the photos of the baby straight away by text. He is so happy, that is obvious.”

Coleen gave birth to their 8lb 2oz son at around 2.20pm on Monday. She left Liverpool Women’s Hospital on Tuesday and is resting at her parents’ home.

Despite Wayne’s excitement, he chose to line up against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday in the Champions League and turned down an offer of compassionate leave from boss Sir Alex Ferguson, 67.

Evra added: “He wanted to play and celebrate with a goal.”

Sub Wayne, 24, helped inspire two goals that saw United pull back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed the Rooneys considered calling their baby Kelly after Wayne’s favourite rock star.

Rooney is a fan of Welsh band Stereophonics and is a close pal of frontman Kelly Jones, 35.

Kelly said: “Wayne sent me a text to say the baby had arrived. I’m delighted – but disappointed he didn’t call him Kelly.”
