BUTTON: I'LL BE DADDY COOL!

JENSON Button is the daddy after clinching the Formula One crown 12 days ago.

And now he’s dreaming of becoming a daddy for real – so he can tell his children all about it.

“Wow, where did that come from?” said the 29-year-old bachelor as he sat in his Brawn GP team’s plush offices at the brand new £250m Abu Dhabi circuit which will host Sunday’s final race of the season.

Button is slowly coming to realise he is up there alongside the great names of motor racing such as Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and Jim Clark.

And he admitted: “It’s difficult to take in having my name alongside all those great names.

“My engineer Andrew Shovlin was very excited when we won the title in Brazil but two days later he sent me a text.

“He had obviously had a couple of shandies and he said: ‘We are the best in the world, the best at what we do at the moment.

‘I can’t wait to tell my kids when they are old enough what we have achieved.’

“That excites me too. Having a family and ­telling them: ‘Your daddy was world champion.’

“But that will be like 20 years’ time, before you say: ‘Jenson can’t wait to have kids!’”

Button wants to double his current £3m-a-season Brawn deal.

And he believes his ­position as world ­champion will make his demands ­impossible to resist.

There has been serious paddock talk about McLaren wanting Button to partner Lewis Hamilton next season – although it is more a pipedream of their sponsor, Vodafone.

And Button admitted: “I have been approached by teams in Formula One.

“I can’t say who because that is confidential.”
