VILLA THRASH BOLTON

7th November 2009

By Geoff Marsh for Dailystar.co.uk

Aston Villa 5 Bolton 1

ASTON Villa eased to victory over Bolton in the Barclays Premier League match at Villa Park.

Ashley Young gave Villa a fifth-minute lead and Gabriel Agbonlahor doubled the lead two minutes before the break, only for substitute Johan Elmander to reduce the deficit two minutes later.

However, second-half goals from John Carew (53), James Milner (72) and Carlos Cuellar (75) made it a comfortable win for Martin O’Neill’s men.

Villa were awarded a penalty in the 72nd minute when Davies fouled Carew.

Milner’s penalty was saved by Jaaskelainen, Agbonlahor hit the post with the rebound - but Milner tapped in.

It was 5-1 three minutes later when Carlos Cuellar headed in Milner’s cross.

There were a flurry of late substitutions but no more goals.
