MEGSON DEFENDS KNIGHT 'BLUNDER'

ABOVE: Zat Knight
3rd November 2009

By Mauro Galluzzo for Dailystar.co.uk

BOLTON boss Gary Megson has got behind Zat Knight following criticism of the players own goal in the defeat by Chelsea on Saturday.

The mistake has raised old doubts about Knight's ability to stay fully focused during games.

But Megson has said he will back the defender, providing he concentrates throughout the 90 minutes.

He said: “There is more to come from Zat, if he can just apply himself a bit better.

“If he just gets that concentration a bit sharper and gets that drive and desire, he can go on and on.

“He has always had this question mark about him at Fulham and Villa but he now has a chance to eradicate it.”
