3rd November 2009

By Ian Murtagh

RYAN Taylor got lucky last night to help Newcastle climb back to the top of the Championship.

The Toon defender saw his ambitious 25-yard drive take a massive defl ection off Sheffi eld United’s Chris Morgan and then fly into the corner of the net. And the 52nd minute goal proved enough to give

Chris Hughton’s men the victory they needed to lift them two points above West Brom in the table.

Steve Harper’s late save from Darius Henderson kept Newcastle’s noses in front as Sheffi eld United mounted a desperate late rally.
